John Reynolds Media reserves the right to change or modify our Privacy Policy or Copyright information at any time. We ensure that any changes are updated on this page promptly.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully.

By having a website created by us, or by having your existing site optimised by Mediaworkz.com.au, you agree to us providing a link to Mediaworkz.com.au on the main index page of your website only.

We do not share, rent or sell your information or email address to anyone.. regardless.

Contacting us, automatically gives us the right to send emails to you. This is not Spam and you have the right to opt out of any mailings simply by returning any email sent by us, with the words.. "Please remove" or "unsubscribe" in the 'Subject' line.. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.

Just because we undertake work on your behalf does automatically grant you copyright or intellectual property rights of the entire website. It appears that in Australia, copyright is automatically granted to the person who generates the content/media/videos - the copyright would remain with the generator, ie: John Reynolds Media, until such time as they, Bunbury Mediaworkz consciously, without duress, transfer the ownership of the content to a third party.

If you provide text for the website, then that text is your copyright.
Apart from the obvious text and images, a website often contains hidden 'complex scripts / codes' that are sometimes licensed from 3rd parties, to operate certain features of a website and these remain their copyright.(s)

Contracting John Reynolds Media or Mediaworkz.com.au to generate media for you, grants you a licence to use this media, but for the purposes of ownership (ie, resale of website or using our media for other purposes) you do NOT own copyright to that content. (Except for images/text/media you have provided us)

DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION:
If you ask us to register a domain name as part of our agreement with you, it remains under our control. We register Domain names under our name because we need to have control over where it points to.
Should you/ /anyone request a transfer of the domain name to your control, there will be an administive fee involved.
If we have to take photos, videos or create images, or create text to make the website, the photographs/videos/media are subject to copyright by us. We may at our discretion, assign this licence/ right to you upon request.

UPDATING WEBSITES:

We do not allow people to update websites we create for them.

The reason are:
1) It would require giving access to the servers where their and all our clients websites are stored. We believe this would be a breach of privacy as anyone could then change anyone's sites and access any data that is there. We do NOT sell individual server space to people.
2) Most people don't know, or realise that websites are written in HTML, the language of the Internet and specialised skill is involved in changing this.

Allowing people to change their own sites, would result is poor quality/out of size images and text being uploaded and over time, the site quality would start to look very poor. As our name is attached to it, we do not allow people to make changes.

The Australian Copyright Act 1968 (the Act) allows 10% of the number of words on this website to be reproduced and/or communicated by any Australian educational institution for its educational purposes provided that the educational institution (or the body that administers it) has given a Notice to Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) under part VB of the Act.
